- Paul Noakes Racing Partners with Meritor for 2012 Season
- Paul Noakes Top Alcohol Funny Car Racing Team is extremely proud to announce our new partnership with title sponsor Meritor, Inc., a leading global provider of commercial vehicle drivetrain systems. Meritor and Euclid products represent trusted aftermarket brands of quality; all makes replacement parts for commercial vehicle fleets and owner operators. Meritor Driveforce represents the company’s field sales and service organization comprised of more than 110 experts trained to support customer needs before, during and after the sale.
"We are really excited to be able to partner up with such an amazing company as Meritor," said Ian Johnston, marketing manager for Noakes Racing. "Meritor is a great fit for drag racing when you look at the number of rigs hauling around all these race cars every weekend.
Meritor and Euclid branded products have represented a significant part of my business over the years," as Johnston is also the marketing manager for long-time Noakes sponsor Harman Heavy Vehicle Specialists, "and that’s why we are so excited to partner up with Meritor this year, their amazing support and top quality reputation."
Everyone at the Paul Noakes Racing Team has been working tirelessly to get this season off to a great start. Along with new sponsors comes an all new look for the Noakes Racing TAFC Mustang. The new colour scheme and layout aren’t the only new things the team have been busy changing.
"We’ve made quite a few changes to the car and setup this year," said Noakes as they prepare for the first race of the season. "We have a new supercharger program — a different PSI screw blower then last year and a new intake for our 526 Brad Anderson Hemi. We’ve changed out a few other systems on the car for a better overall setup but also had to do a number of safety updates to be NHRA ready."
Although there are numerous additions to the Noakes Racing Team this season, many things have stayed the same at the team. "I’m really fortunate to have such great support from my team, crew chief and sponsors," Paul acknowledged. "Les Mellows our crew chief and the whole crew of Tim Rice, Ben Rodgers, Randy Sackfield, even the folks at Harman HVS have been working so hard to get everything ready to go. We are all looking forward to a very exciting season this year."
After a solid weekend of testing at Grand Bend, the Noakes crew is headed off to Norwalk, Ohio for the Division 3 NHRA Alcohol Funny Car event. For more information and to stay up-to-date on the Noakes Racing Team this season, come see us at www.noakesracing.com.
